California Sports Surfaces (CSS) are delighted to announce that our Rebound Ace® Portable system has been chosen for the 2015 ATP St. Petersburg Open.
The tournament will be held against the backdrop of thousands of beautifully preserved historical buildings and its previous champions include Ernests Gulbis, Andy Murray and Marat Safin.
The choice of surface coincides with the restructure of the tournament itself, with its own return to the ATP tour after a year in the wilderness.
After a successful Fed Cup outing for the Russians in Poland earlier this year, the tournament organisers were encouraged to choose the new portable system that perfectly fits the quick turnaround that the tournament requires.
The entire surface itself is stored in a single container and can be installed in less than five hours by an efficient small team. The pre-coated, interlocking system offers the players premium cushion and comfort, while maximising their performance.
Steven Lock, Manager of Events, Partnerships and Strategy in Australia, spoke about the delight at adding another major tournament to the CSS belt, “after years of providing portable surfaces for WTA events and Fed and Davis Cup ties, it’s pleasing that the Russian tournament organisers and ATP have had the vision to embrace our world leading CSS portable system.”
The 20th edition of the tournament is set to take place between 21-27 of September at a new venue that was originally opened as a world-class basketball arena in 2013.
Stay tuned for more information as the tournament draws closer.
CSS portable systems are the perfect surface solution for exhibition matches in high profile venues that require a quick turnaround. Our premium coatings: Rebound Ace®, Plexipave®, DecoTurf®, can all be applied on the interlocking wooden system, offering players premium cushion and comfort.
