GAME CHANGER: HOW CSS REVOLUTIONIZED RESURFACING
Everybody in the sports surfacing industry knows what Acrylic Resurfacer is… it is as ubiquitous as squeegees, pails or sunscreen, but that wasn’t always the case. It was in 1978, the year after Star Wars was released, that California Sports Surfaces became the first manufacturer to launch an acrylic-based resurfacing product, specifically intended for preparing asphalt surfaces.
CSS’ Acrylic Resurfacer allowed contractors to fill in voids and start with a more uniform canvas, but using a product that lasted longer, was more permeable and easier to work with than messy and inconsistent asphalt emulsion products that were the only option available at the time.
Continuing to innovate over a generation, CSS was able to expand our resurfacer options to include a neutral-colored AR, a sand-filled AR and a more flexible AR. As we know, most AR is usually black, but our Neutral Resurfacer is an ideal option for covering certain crack repairs or patches where the color on this undercoat layer is a little more important. Meanwhile, the factory-fortified AR w/sand takes some of the legwork out of mixing bags of loose silica onsite, while helping to give a more uniform and consistent mix. Finally, our Flexible AR offers another solution for those surfaces where there is going to be some additional movement, whether going over an existing cushion system or where there is some instability in the base.
Choose the resurfacer that is best for you and remember where the innovation all began… with California Sports Surfaces!
